Shane at the Frank Skinner Show

WHAT'S THIS?
Shane MacGowan with teeth? It is - but before you accuse him of visiting the dentist, understand that he was just funning on The Frank Skinner Show on November 25. Skinner had just modelled a set of pure-white oversized dentures in comedic fashion, and Shane was invited to have a go. He did so,  with the host's saliva still coating them, and ended up looking an ageing member of some forgotten boy-band.

When Shane MacGowan was on your show you both tried on the same pair of dentures. What did you do with them afterwards? Did he smell?

The make-up lady took them away and boiled them. I tell you something, he didn't smell. He so looked as if he ought to, but he didn't at all. We embraced, so we got very close. I loved him, actually. When I met him it made me feel a bit like drinking again. I still have the heroic drunk thing in me. I think it's marvellous that he lives like that. He's a functioning drunk, and he was still quite sharp and witty in that interview. He's got the best laugh in the world, it sounds like somebody logging on to the internet.
